Location

Seton Catholic is located in Plattsburgh, NY, near the shores of Lake Champlain.  Surrounded by both the majestic

Adirondack Mountains of New York and the Green Mountains of Vermont, Plattsburgh is the site of a number of

monumental events that occurred during the formative years of our Country , including the Battle of Valcour Island

during the American Revolutionary War and the War of 1812's Battle of Plattsburgh.

 

Located 45 minutes from Lake Placid (home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games), Plattsburgh, NY is one

hour south of Montreal, Quebec, and about one hour from Burlington, Vermont via ferry.  Other nearby cities include

Albany, NY (165 miles), Boston, MA (280 miles), and New York City (330 miles).

 

Directions

 

TRAVELING BY CAR

From the South (NYC, NJ, Albany)
Take I-87 north to exit 36 (Route 22 exit).  Turn right onto Route 22 (2.0 miles).

Turn right onto Arizona Ave (0.6 miles).

Turn left onto New York Road (0.6 miles).

 

From the West (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse)
Take I-90 east to Albany to I-87 north.  Proceed with the “from the south” directions.

 

From the East (NH, VT)
Take I-89 north (VT) to the
Grand Isle Ferry.  

When leaving the ferry dock, follow the Commodore Thomas McDonough Highway to the the traffic light

where it intersects with Route 9 (4 miles).  Turn left onto Route 9 (1.7).  Turn left onto Broad Street (0.3 miles).

Turn right onto Peru Street/Route 9 (1.0 mile). Enter next roundabout and take 1st exit onto New York Road (0.7 miles).

To use the bridge, take I-89 to Swanton. Turn left onto Route 78 and follow the signs marking Route 78 to Alburg

and turn right onto Route 2.  After crossing the bridge, turn left onto Route 11 and follow signs to I-89S.

Continue with "from the north" directions.

 

From southern New England (MA, CT)
Take the Massachusetts turnpike to I-87 in New York state.  Take I-87 north and proceed with the “from the south” 

directions.

 

From the North (Canada)
Take 15 south to the border in Champlain, New York.  Take I-87 south to exit 38S (1.7 miles),                                 

Turn left onto Broad Street (0.1 mile),                                                                                                                               

Turn right onto Peru Street/Route 9 (1.0 mile),                

Enter next roundabout and take 1st exit onto New York Road (0.7 miles)


TRAVELING BY BUS/TRAIN

The Plattsburgh area is serviced by Greyhound Bus Service and Amtrak Train Service.

 

TRAVELING BY AIR

The Plattsburgh International Airport is located less than one mile from Seton Catholic.

Other airports close to Plattsburgh include:

Burlington International Airport (Burlington, Vermont - approximately one hour drive)

Albany International Airport (Albany, NY - approximately 2.5 hours drive

Montreal-Trudeau International Airport  (Montreal, Quebec, Canada - approximately 1.5 hour drive).
